RWGPS For HBC Members |
One of the benefits of being an HBC member is free access to the HBC account on RWGPS. RWGPS is a website (ridewithgps.com) that allows cyclists to map their rides and download existing routes to their smart phone, and receive turn-by-turn voice navigation, to create routes and to print maps and cue sheets to pass out at rides. To access the HBC account on RWGPS, you must first have an individual RWGPS Account.
Sign up for an individual RWGPS account: Go to https://ridewithgps.com and press the “Sign Up” button. You will be prompted to set up a profile with information such as your location, your privacy preferences health data, etc. Profile information is not required, but entering the location information will make RWGPS easier to use. RWGPS offers paid memberships, but signing up for a free membership is all that you need to access the club RWGPS account. Join the Hiawatha Bicycling Club RWGPS account: Once you set up your individual RWGPS account, you may become a member of the Hiawatha Bicycling Club on RWGPS by following this link: https://ridewithgps.com/auto_approve/Club/653/d8UrBQL19h0ok1h1 Using the Hiawatha Bicycling Club RWGPS account: When you next sign in to RWGPS, look for an HBC button on the left side of your home page under “Organizations”. Use this button to navigate to the club page and “sign in” on the club page. The club page includes a Route Library with routes that HBC Ride Leaders have created and saved. When you are signed into the club, you may print PDFs of maps and cue sheets of routes saved in the club library. You may also download maps to your smart phone by using the RWGPS App. Members HBC, may copy HBC routes to your route library and make any changes to them that you would like. However, you can not save routes back to the club library unless you are a ride leader.
