Ride With GPS — a Benefit for HBC Members
One of the benefits of being an HBC member is participation in the HBC Club on Ride With GPS. Ride With GPS is a website (ridewithgps.com) that allows cyclists to map their rides and download existing routes to their smart phone, and receive turn-by-turn voice navigation, to create routes and to print maps and cue sheets to pass out at rides.
In order to access the Hiawatha Bicycling Club on Ride With GPS [RWGPS], you must first have an individual RWGPS Account. You can sign up for RWGPS by pointing your browser at https://ridewithgps.com and pressing the “Sign Up” button. Although there are paid memberships, you don’t need to purchase a paid membership — the free membership is just tine. You will also be prompted to set up a profile with information such as your location, your privacy preferences health data etc. This is not required, but entering at least the location information will make RWGPS easier to use.
After you have established an individual RWGPS account, you may become a member of the Hiawatha Bicycling Club by following this link:

When you next access RWGPS, there will be an HBC club button on the left side of your home page under “Organizations”. In order to access the club benefits, you must click this button which will take you to the club page. There is a “sign in” button on the club page and clicking this button will sign you into the club. Under the club page you will find a Route Library which lists the routes HBC Ride Leaders have created for the club library. As a member of HBC, you can copy these routes to your own library, and make any modifications to them that you would like. However, you can not add the route back to the club library unless you are a ride leader.
As long as you are signed into the club, you may print PDFs of maps and cue sheets of the routes found in the club library and you may download maps to your smart phone using the RWGPS App.
